The COVID pandemic not only put a halt to many events, but also forced us to re-think the way we have traditionally held them.
One of these key ceremonies was the MND National Day Awards (NDA). Usually held annually as a combined MND Family event,
the 2020 ceremony was initially put on hold and then decentralised to the individual agencies to organise. And this gave us
the opportunity to bring the event closer to home, to hold it in a more intimate manner, and throw in some innovative
elements as well.
So, on 25 January 2022, we celebrated the achievements of HDB recipients of the Commendation and Efficiency Medals at HDB Hub. During the ceremony, 12 staff received their medals from Ms Indranee Thurai Rajah, Second Minister for National Development.
HDB recipients of the Long Service Medal were the stars of our two ceremonies held simultaneously on 28 January
2022 at HDB Hub. Ms Sim Ann, Senior Minister of State and Dr Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim, Minister of State graced
the ceremonies. A total of 60 staff were conferred the medal during this memorable occasion. And a special
live-streaming video before the event began, featured the recipients helloing and greeting one another at the ceremonies.
As a form of appreciation, care packs were also gifted to the recipients who attended the NDA 2020 ceremonies.
Once again, a round of applause for all the HDB recipients of the NDA. Well done!
